I wonder what the years have taught this old man, he seems a hardened man, a tired man..
I still wonder..
I feel like he’s got nothing ahead of him, nothing he can look up to. Waiting to meet his creator, his God, like all of us..
since the weather is amazing here, and I’m kinda going the state of the most de-motivation about work and all that. And it’s so getting hard for me to wake up early in the morning every day.. I’m thinking of taking one. Weather is perfect now in K-Town *Kuwait city that is* for a morning coffee outdoors with a book or something. I think I need to take that vacation. Also, it seems that I have to finish the annual leave days that are left from 2011. So this might be enough excuse for me. anyone suggests anything?
Now this is a very very amazing day to me and i’m so thankful for it. LIKE IN A REAL BOOK! :D
This might not be the 1st time I do it, but hey, this is the 1st time I got the book physically! The 1st one was a charity organization in Canada like 3 years ago or something, This time it’s a person living here in Kuwait who is doing this as a way of a small tourist guide or an introduction about Kuwait as a country or with big part of the profit going to an orphanage here in the country!
It’s a visual book with poems and small thoughts in it. I love the idea, it’s simple and neat.
This is a great day for me, a day of a lifetime. and I’m so thankful to God for this, I really am in a happy moment now.
Also today, I’ve taken photos with an ex-Hollywood actor named “Kurek Ashley” who worked in movies with John Travolta, Chuck Norris, Sylvester Stallone and all the action movie guys. He actually worked in the original Dukes of Hazzard! He was a coach success brought to us for a session at work, and that by itself is another thing to talk about with him remembering the death of his friends and actually tearing on stage while talking.
Other thing would be another session I attended after work about pre-islamic culture and how people think of it as a nothingness and how they are mistaken.
Oh man, today was awesome! I’m happy that I had a day like this. Other than that, how are you all doing?
A Man Without a Country by Kurt Vonnegut
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
If I would want to describe this book,
I would say it’s bits of everything Kurt wanted to say..
It has so many topics, so many orientations, so many views.
It goes from literature critique to politics to humanity, history, music too.
He talks about Inspiration, Environment, War, Slavery, Punctuation, Comedy, German-Americans, God, George W. Bush, Extended families.
And it goes on and on and on.. In this very small book in pages, it has so much value about the world we live in.
It’s the writer’s brain being squeezed in a beautiful, dark, hopeful, pitiful, and very passionate-about-life way.
Only downside: thoughts are not being discussed enough, some primary thoughts as introductions of the topics are interesting enough to be discussed.
I loved this book, I disagreed with some of its opinions and thoughts, but I would recommend it for its beauty as a whole..
